A jungle world, fresh and young where reptiles still rule. The vegetation
is lush and wild, with seasons stretched between cruel winter near the
poles and mild summer for much of the rest of the planet all the year round.
The buildings of the settlers here are strong but functional, and life
is a constant battle against an angry nature
Principal trades: Animals as exotic pets, agriculture
Indigenous intelligent species: Various reptilian hominids,
including the simian-descended Ghoax, whose stone age culture just
beginning to expand into something more. There is evidence of some agrarian
agriculture among the Ghoax clans, but essentially hunter gatherer. However,
there is some evidence to suggest the Ghoax were once far more developed
as the architecture of some areas of the T'Chell Palace is not in keeping
with that race's usual preferences and items found there are clearly of
Ghoax workmanship.
Harvax teems with wild and dangerous life, including several sub-hominoid
races believed to have been introduced either by the aliens that transformed
the star system or via dimensional Portals on the planet which have yet
to be located.
Contact between Harvax races and Human settlers is kept limited and
all Human settlements are protected by null fields to prevent the larger
reptiles damaging dwellings. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
Only one race, the T'Chell, are remotely friendly on a regular
basis with Humans and they have grudgingly permitted settlement by Humans
in their major city, Chaross, near the Accessway link point.
The tourist arriving here comes armed for war, since exploration is
fraught with danger.
For future reference:
The dangers of Harvax are compounded by what is suspected to be aside
effect of the Portals on this world. This is the presence of an energy
field which, if accessed mechanically or by natural ability, enables the
manipulation of the laws of nature in a chaotic manner -- magic by any
other name. Thus the Explorer with the finest state-of-the-art weaponry
can find themselves at the mercy of an axe-wielding Ghoax, their guns suddenly
rendered useless by some quirk of the Harvax Field. Scientists continue
to posulate as to the source of this energy field but as yet, no-one has
a real answer.
Worryingly, the races of Harvax discovered the energies of this field
can be contained in mechanical objects or artefacts such as rings, amulets
and larger items, enabling their wielders to utilise the Harvax Field offworld
as well as on (though such tools need to be re-charged).

Check locales -- needs splitting between
background and floor
This could be done as a cut and paste operation
over time utilising a back stage area.
Movement: Concern over walk ons and walk offs
from different locales, especially if as a ghost. These need to be sorted
out and agreed before opening.

Dimensional Portals
The Portals on this world -- not visible as yet
within the starting locales -- are unstable and while accessing their secrets
remains elusive, creatures from the other side of their gateway have found
their way to Harvax, establishing warring nations of strange, primitive
beings in every possible ecological niche on the planet. Humans are a rarity
on this world and the unwary visitor risks everything by not arriving prepared
for the worst.
While these are of a similar design to the Portals on Orell, those on Harvax that have been unlocked access dangerous and hostile environments across the galaxy and into different time periods. Because of the nature of these portals it is surmised that these were the first tests of the dimension-shifting technology that may have swallowed the entire Chi'kkren race at some point, though as mentioned elsewhere, no records have been found to exlpain that race's disappearance some thousands of years ago.
It is intended that Harvax provides our 'bridge'
to various game worlds.
