Technos is a completely articfiial planet which may posses a hyperspatial travel system enabling transportation to other parts of the Chi'kkren Empire in other star systems. So far, scientists have been unable to penetrate its secrets.
The planet most distant from the system's sun, this is a completely artificial world, the jewel in the crown of a long-dead civilization whose empire once spanned many star systems. Technos is a mecca for technology junkies. Every new discovery could mean a fortune for the lucky finder and research teams from all the multi-globe industries are permanently stationed here. New discoveries are being made every day -- gadgets, software and other items, some which we can only begin to guess the use of.
Technos also features a huge hyperspatial tunnel generation system which it is believed will enable access to other parts of

When the Human colonists who accidentally discovered the Orellian system first began to explore Technos they quickly realised this artificial world might hold the key to continuing the construction of the Dyson Sphere the aliens had begun. Certainly, despite the day to day dangers of exploring this planet, the colonists have found artefacts which have been repaired and in some cases even improved to maintain and expand the tube systemn -- the skyhook infrastructure -- which connects the planets.
But mystery still surrounds the look and society of the aliens who started to build this possibly unique system, and what happened to them.
Apart from theories that the aliens disappeared into one of the many dimensional portals discovered on Orell and Harvax for other universes or times, the major artefact on Technos suggestes another possibility. The surface of Technos is dominated by a fifteen kilometre high tower, its foundations plunging straight to the core of this alien-made planet (which has enabled corridors and room around those foundations to be extensively explored). This tower, nicknamed The Spike, appears not only to gather the power which drives the unexplained energies of the dimensional portals, but also acts as a gigantic light particle accelerator. Experiments with robot craft would seem to indicate that a ship ejected from its 'summit' is thrown into hyperspace -- or a similar dimension -- enabling travel to another location many millions of miles from Orell. Unfortunately, despite programming these robot craft with substantial AI, none of the craft have yet returned to orell from that location. Speculation is rife that this hyper-corridor connection may lead to the new centre of the alien empire, or another Dyson Sphere. However. no personned flights have been made.The surface of Technos is covered with giant hangars where spacecrafts of all types can be housed and repaired. Some aline craft have been found and catalogued.
Beneath the surface, a maze of rooms, some still blocked off by doors of as yet impnetrable material, has offered up countlkess alien artefacts including short range teleport bracelets, chameleon technology (enabling the wearer to change their likeness), communications equipment and hand-held devices which can open dimensional portals when correctly activated and coded.Many areas of Technos, including its defensive grid which still destroys incoming space debris, have been decalred off limits to the general public and only guided tours are allowed.

Future: The Moons of Technos
These are also artificial constructs, positioned so as to protect and observe the exterior shell of the main world. These form a powerful defensive grid and it is well known that the Orellian military have teams exploring these for potential use for combat training, weaponry etc. Companies have taken over the maintenance of some of these planetoids and charge huge fees for access to their secrets...
