Wendy Sue Noah Interview
Just in time for the holidays is a lovely interview I conducted recently with Wendy Sue Noah, who was a Business Development Consultant at Fujitsu Software Corporation working on WorldsAway. Wendy later transitioned over when David Andrews took over the WorldsAway Group and switched the name to Avaterra.com, Inc.
For some more insight into what life was like working in Silicon Valley during the mid 90's and how crazy it all was, I think you'll enjoy the chat that we had. If you were a fan of Club Connect or were curious about how romance factored into these early online spaces, this is for you.
Wendy was very generous with her time and her words and it was great chatting with her. Getting to flesh out what was going on at the time WorldsAway was still being actively developed has been a great pleasure.
One of the things I enjoy about what I write about here is that we also get to learn about the culture of the time and I think Habitat, WorldsAway and so on are better viewed through that lens.
Normally to help generate interest in the site and help encourage support for hosting costs and supporting acquiring research materials/etc, interviews and other new content are usually exclusive to subscribers only for an early access period of 2 weeks. As the holidays are here though, the interview is live for everyone right now to enjoy.
