There will be no ghost racing on Dec 25th. Instead, the final race of the month will be run on Dec 28th, (Thursday) at 5 PM WAT in front of Isle Caribe. The Oracles have given us a specially engraved head for the Race Champ for this month, so good luck to all who are in the running! On the 18th we had to play them fast, as the Snowflake games were due to start when the ghost racing finished. We still managed to get 11 races in, including a head race. Winning a present from the elves was Utopia. Shaker, Ne crolyte Benny, and Colonel Klink all won one race fo 50T each. Titan won the 100T race. Our thanks to the elf who dropped off the prize to race for. I still don't know what was in that box! Winning two races each wer Necrolyte Xian and SKY TOWER for 100T each, and Mistletoe winning 50T and a gingerbread head. That leaves Necrolyte Xian in the lead with 6 wins. Followed by Necrolyte Benny with 5 wins and Shaker with 4. COMING IN JANUARY FOR GHOST RACING will be Holger who will be hosting the games during the European Time Zones! Stay tuned to the CLARION for registration information but we'll start you off now with the contest descriptions. There will be five contests in all. All will have some grounding in the dreamscape, or the history of the dream. Contestants can compete in any number of the competitions. Contests are: 1) Singing - Songs must have a familiar melody, so all can recognize and sing along with the song, but, the songwriter should change the lyrics to reflect life on the dreamscape. Songs can be about the city, Morpheus, dream of your choice, but something to do with Kymer and our life here. Example, to the tune of New York, New York. Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today, to make a brand new start of it, Kymer, Kymer. These cramped argo blues, are starting to fade, I want to be a part of it, Kymer, Kymer. I want to dream in a city that never wakes, To find I'm monthly race champ, top of the heap! These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray, right to the very heart of it, Kymer, Kymer. If I can dream it there, I'll dream it anywhere, It's up to you, Kymer, Kymer!!! {applause} Contestants will be judged on song and content (this is why you must make sure it's something they know the melody of so they can sing along and appreciate the song), and presentation. 2) Comedy acts - contestants must have a comedy routine that lasts no less then 2 minutes, and no longer then 5. Jokes must be fit to be shared in front of every member of the family! No profanity, off color, or discrimination allowed. A minimum of two of the jokes must center on the dreamscape! Anything from a "funny thing happened to me on the way to the Teleporter....." to whatever you come up with. Contestants will be judged not only on the quality of jokes, the amount of them that do concern our dream, but also presentation. 3) Story Telling - contestants must have a story to tell that lasts no less then 5 minutes, and no longer then 10 minutes. A two minute warning will be sent to the contestant as they near the 10 minute mark. Storys should be about, (you guessed it), the dreamscape and our life here. Contestants will be judged on story content and presentation. 4) Pet Tricks - Your pet can be a canary, a fuzzie, a head, a fern, your new teddy bear or anything you wish. Imagination is the key to this contest, so don't leave it home. Contestants will be judged on presentation, pet care and handling, and imagination. 5) Wave Competition - This is a competition that is gotten from Kymer's History. This competition was regularly held on Caribe. This is a team competition, and teams should be an number of avatars from 3 to 6 to participate in the contest. As a side note, there can also be more then one in the groups competing in the other contests. You can sing a duet or quartet, you can present your story as a play, you can have more then one handler of your pet, or you can try to make your mark as the Abbott and Costello or whatever of the dreamscape. Just make sure you register all members of the group in advance. In this contest, however, you have to have a minimum of three avatars to perform. Each wave team generally base their movements/story on a theme, which can be based on Kymer History, Caribe History, a dream- scape event, or anything having to do with the dream and the avatars presence in it. Contestants normally stand in a line and narrate the story/theme using sychronized movements to illustrate it. Teams will be judged on your theme and your ability to convey it, your presentation, and the sychronization of movement among team members. Some teams may choose to have one speaker, off to the side, while the others perform the movements. CHAOS, Inc will be held NOT on Dec 27th, but will be held at 5 PM WAT on Dec 29th (Friday) in the Bar-L Bar Storeroom. CORRECTION - It was incorrectly reported last week that Necrolyte Xian was the top winner of the event on the 13th. Instead the true winners were Necrolyte Benny and Utopia with the top scores. We regret any inconvience the mistake may have caused. CHAOS, Inc last week was a holiday blow out that started by taking the first letter of each word in the first line of a holiday song, and having people guess the song. For example, S N H N A I C A I B is of course Silent Night. Winners also had to come down out of the clouds and sing the song. I never knew we had such great singers here in Kymer. I'm sure the Singing contest in January (see COMING IN JANUARY article) will have many entrants. Once we had five different winners, (Noelle, Necrolyte Benny, Supel, Vini Vidi Vici and SKY TOWER), we had them come down and anchor team play! We had songs and trivia for team play, with those in the clouds helping out by ESPing answers to the team leaders on the ground. The first team leader to answer correctly earned points for all team members. The winning team was made up of Supel and Necrolyte Xian, with the top overall points going to Supel and Vin Vidi Vici. Also winning tokens for playing were HD and Dr Doomsday on Necrolyte Benny's team, Mick the Tiger on Noelle's team, Cyber-Geek on Vini Vidi Vici's team and Cooly on SKY TOWER's team. At times things were happening so fast, I'm surprised I was able to receive all the points as they came in for all the players. As scorekeeper, I was not at the individual events, so I did not see what took place there, (but the scores were very close in most of them), but I can tell you about the final standings for the registered players, that bets were taken on. The registered players attended all five games that evening and played knowing that other avatars had placed tokens on their performance. The closest non-registered finish was that of Gillian, and though in the top 10, was not one of the top three. The top three, winning the specially engraved snowflakes, were all registered players. Scuttle won top prize with 35 overall points. Jax, was close behind with 33 Points, in a spectacular come from behind chase. Necrolyte Xian kept a steady pace to come in third with 27 overall points. How close was it? Two (Necrolyte Benny and Tasslehoff) were tied for fourth with 26 points. Only one point away from that third place finish. Gillian, Boogie Man, Angel Gambler, BLD Changeling and an anonymous bettor all still need to contact me for their bet winnings. The Bloodline wishes to thank all who came and made the event a success, and we hope to see you all next December when the Snowflake games return. VIQer had come in to take over and was able to get two rounds in anyway. There was a room full of people faithfully waiting to answer those questions! They kept saying "We Need Points!". Lots of questions from different TV shows, Lost In Space, Star Trek series and movies, old black and white Sci-Fi movies, Star Wars and anything else we could think of!! Was he ever surprised!! People stopped in from everywhere, even another avatar who had named himself Captain Picard... We all watched the Orbitron at the starway as it's little ball undulated in and out of Necrolyte Benny's ear. Presents were flying everywhere! Lucky the Captain had a couple extra chests in his pocket and Lambchop had come prepared. She was the perpetrator of this party . After the birthday party broke up, the Captain organized a gift giving which lasted for about 4 hours!! Agan the crowds came to get their Xmas gift.. Flocking in by the dozens, it was all we could do to keep up with the gifts. There was Commander Data, Feu Des Astres, Necrolyte Vadim, Necrolyte Benny, Sunray Fantasia and others all helping out to give the gifts and keep us supplied with them.
