They come earlier and earlier every year, those holidays that end the year off and start the new one. Course, some of you go by a different calander, but the feeling is probably still there. At least in all the rush and worry and last minute trot to the vendos to find the perfect gift, we can still find the joy and peace that comes from being part of this glorious new world. A world that's on the verge of getting in more settlers, sure, but I'm sure we will all do our best to welcome them off the Argo and get their land legs. As the refugees and settlers pour past customs, we can also value and appreciate the new ideas, experiences and views they bring to our home. Those experiences include the holidays and event they are use to celebrating, and I hope all, old and new, will help us to bring the best of your worlds to ours. Join us on the boards for the I DREAMED I SAW......... discussions or send letters to 72007,221 and share your visions, holidays, celebrations and thoughts with all! And if you happen to pass the choke machine on the docks, as it waits for it's chance to enter, please feel free to feed it any tokens you may have. After all, choke machines need love, attention and tokens also. C is for the many coins you've taken, H is for the Hope one always has, O is for the Oh I finally got one! K is for the Kick that drink does have, E is for the Everyone who misses you, and I must say I miss you awfully too, Put them all together they spell CHOKE! As demand for ad space goes up, so should the price. If Ads are sold, the price of the paper can be kept down to 2t, and can be recycled at the pawn machine for 1t, to keep our place clean. Just a thought. Besides, we prefer to use newpaper to kitty litter. With our short legs it's hard to climb into a box when we have to go *RIGHT NOW!* BTW, can we have some of your old newspapers? - Roga Mae and Ali Quid We regret that until we have the paper available in your dreams, we are unable to provide you with old issues. I know, it's a little uncomfortable since we're all still standing, but your eyes are getting heavier and heavier. You are feeling sleepier and sleep- ier, you are now ready to come with me into the forum, and there, yes, there it is, a room called Discussions & Issues with the door open and the welcome mat out. Enter with me and let us dream what we could see. Breath slow and steady, see the room? See the bulletin boards lining the room. See the pads of paper on the desks. Let us take one of those pads and write upon them our dreams of Kymer's future. There it is, the perfect topic. I dreamed I saw..... What will you write down on that topic? What do you see in your dreams? I hope you have been enjoying this chance to share your dreams and those of others. I certainly have. So we'll continue to dream on the forum board for others to share. Yes, we do have something in particular we need your input on. We want to know what events, holidays, occasions YOU celebrate and how! When is it? What is needed to celebrate it? I'm sure I saw Ophelia keeping time with her tail, when she wasn't eyeing Miss M's rope. I don't think it was because she was afraid of being tied up, just that it looked like the sort of thing she'd have fun unravelling. After all the excitement of the hoedown, though, Ophelia seems to have abandoned the barstool for her more usual haunts, keeping the storeroom free of mice and making sure that drinks spilled behind the bar are quickly lapped up before anyone slips and falls! Have you noticed how healthy the plants in the Temple have been looking lately? Word has it that the Acolytes have been diligently watering and pruning them so that they always look their best, but we think that at least part of the credit for the striking beauty of the foliage should go to Necrolyte Jackal3, who's been heard speaking soothingly to them, encouraging them to grow straight and strong in honor of Morpheus. Way to go, Jackal! We're sure the plants appreciate the concern and the attention! The other night when we thought we were talking to one of the Pandas about town, we discovered we'd actually run into a ferret! Indeed, he was a member of ferret royalty: Ali Quid, Ferret Prince. He asked me to relay word to the janitorial staff that some cleaning definite- ly needed to be done around the picture-window frames in the StarWay Cafe. He said he'd peeked behind them and found some stardust! He also left some food behind there for later, for someone to have a fit when they discover it, he explained, as well as for the exter- minator to explain why there were ants. Ants! In the StarWay? Hey, those aren't ants, those are visitors from a faraway planet! Aren't they??? As the Rumor Mill churns: Is romance in the air as Ruby and Daniel remain an inseparable couple? And speaking of inseparable couples, it seems that wherever you see Jax these days, you also see Hollywood pursuing the ladies together, either in tandem or one after the other. If all those women accept the proposals of marriage they've been getting, we'll likely have Kymer's first group household soon! Who have *you* seen on the street lately? Could it have been me? If so, do drop out of the clouds, say hello, and tell me what's shaking! I love to hear all about the doings of the neighborhood! >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*< >> A VAMPIRE'S VIEW By Vampire Bonsoir, citizens of Phantasus. Allow me to introduce myself. My name, generic as it may seem, is Vampire. I was the first vampire on Kymer, arriving after many long years spent elsewhere outside of the Dreamscape. My journey on the Argo was a pleasent one, although much of my time was spent in the cabin and out of the sun. When the smooth motions of the ship slowed and finally were reduced to a gentle rocking in the port, I timidly opened the door, expecting to feel the pain of the sunlight my poor, vampiric skin cannot endure. But mon dieu, I felt no pain! I stepped into the full sunlight and felt its warm rays of light caress my face and skin. So many years had passed where I had longed to have that feeling again, and now, in this wonderful place of dreams, it has become my reality. I kept a low profile for a while, hiding in small nooks and crannies of the city. Then I overheard some avatars talking about "ghosting" and soon mastered that skill. Without fear I explored the city again in perfect safety in the clouds. The daytime felt wonderful. I sensed only love from those around me, and listened to all the kind words being spoken. It was a commodity I had taken for granted in my mortal years outside the Dreamscape, and something I was exposed to very little of after I became a vampire. This place, this wondrous place, had brought back sweet memories long forgotten. Then I met Lestat. Mon cher with skin like the purest white marble, eyes like black onyx so deep I found myself lost within their loving embrace. Love was once more something I could call my own. It was a few nights before Halloween and I was roaming Phantasus again. I heard a commotion at Blasted Heath and hurried there to find that two Acolytes had become vampires! This was not my doing, and surely not Lestat's, so who, I wondered, had done this? I started my investigation. I remained in the clouds above the streets and watched as the number of vampires grew. Then I saw her, the beautiful one. Carmila. It seems that Lestat and I were not alone on this island after all; Carmila had been here all the time. There erupted a struggle between good and evil, vampires and knights. I remained neutral on this issue because I have always considered myself neither good nor evil. I live as I live, love as I love, do as I do. Oh, of course I popped down from the clouds every now and then with Lestat to have a bit of fun and a small "snack", but I was not afraid of the truly evil ones or of the Knights. I watched the battle grow, watched Carmila's struggle, and finally her undoing. She and I are alike in that we are vampires, yet we are completely different. We belong to two different "breeds", if you will. I was deeply saddened to see her go. And if we must see this whole ordeal as a lesson, let us not choose sides on one extreme of "good" or "bad", let us open our hearts and have sympathy for those who struggle within themselves and happiness for those who do not. -Vampire >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*< >> TURKEY TROT RACERS NEEDED By Marianne G The Bloodline is hosting a Turkey Trot on the 26th of November, a Sunday, at 5 PM WAT and need four teams of four players to race! Why should you suffer during a trivia game because your memory causes you to crash? Or perhaps, your memory just makes it hard for you to recall the answers. Now there's help. With team trivia, you get points if you or a team member are the first answers in! Sounds good, right? But where does the CHAOS come in? After so many trivia questions, we have everyone ESP the host and based on that order, we make up new teams. On a different team every time. If 9 people ESP in to play the next round, the 1st, 4th and 7th ESP in becomes a team, the 2nd, 5th and 8th, another and the 3rd, 6th and 9th the last team, or however it goes. This also makes your scores different after the first round or so, and you still have to work, you can't rely on your teammates for all the answers! Winning tokens and attending the trivia were Trapper in first place with 62 points, Hera with 46 points, Keyser Soze with 43 points, TuNee with 41 points and Starshine with 38 points. Behind them with smaller shares of the pot were Gump6pt7, Damia, Feu Des Astres, Edo, Vestal, Version 1.1, Iluvater, RollsRoyce2, Lady Callahan, Heath, G Armarni, Michael age:8, Randy, Flyboy, Kethrey and Wolf Darkmane. Pretty sure I got everyone in, thanks for playing, and hmmm, maybe we'll do some Boggle this week. Who knows! >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*< >> SUPER RELAY GHOST RACES! By Acolyte VIQer Well we did it! 4 corner racing... Teams of four players! Everything went very smoothly... We were able to have three races within our allotted time schedule, one and one-half hours. Many people were coming to the VC outside locale trying to get into the place! In light of this I will be changing the locale next week to a less trafficed spot...... Total was 24 prize winners, the only person who didn't claim their prize was Locke... Locke, see me inworld for your 50 tokens! Some of the players raced more than once, this is perfectly fine.. If you finish a four corner race, stick around for a few, we might need an extra player or two! The most important thing is that everyone had a great time! There were a few nervous about crashing and a few who did actually experience being thrown back into the waking world..Everyone seemed to return to Phantasus quickly afterward! I will try to bring you the Super Relay at least once a month. Our helpers were: Acolyte Electra Lambchop Kran Kudos to all three for being so patient and doing such a fine job communicating to me and each other.
