I could tell he wasn't like me, though I couldn't see his face I sort of got the feeling that he was a friendly sort, when he offered me a ride in his ship named Hellaport As he headed for my planet traveling at the speed of light, we talked of both our homeworlds as we moved along our path of flight I really kind of like the guy though I think he might not be "all here", I was sad to know he'd leave me soon, as my planet drew quite near This is a tale to tell my children in the coming days ahead, and a story they will pass along for eons when I'm dead Of the day I met the alien and "hitch-hiked through the galaxy", and of all the unbelievable stories and the words that made me see His species isn't so different with their multiple legs and arms, He told me of the farmers there who spend their lives tending their farms On my world we have the same things, though we call them different names, our children still tell stories, and play the same sorts of games He took me on an odyssey in his bright and shiny ship, This funny little creature with the really peculiar lisp He talked to me of planets, and the creatures that they housed, I thought him quite eccentric but with curiosity aroused I listened to him talk of things both wondrous and strange, I thought of my home planet and how it was... "before the change" When we fought amongst ourselves, and were racing for the stars, so now we can say that we have intergalactic wars My lungs were filled with the stench of the recycled air we breathed, and I oh so wanted to see his face without the mask in which it was sheafed My new found friend, this alien from a planet far way I hope I'll get to see him again... -- Maybe I'll get to go to EARTH one day Story by Aries Rain Space Travel A couple of redneck southern boys got drunk one Saturday night and decided to travel to the moon! They got their heads together and tried to figure out how to build a rocket. They stole a culvert from under the Chief of Police driveway. They took it to one of their backyards and attached a stubaker front end to the end of the pipe. Then they cut a doorway in the side for an entrance. But now they were stumped! How to make an engine for it? The best idea they could come up with was to attach a 55 gal oil drum to the back of it with an old World War ll flame thrower coming out the end. But being broke they didn't have any money to buy fuel! So they all got empty milk cartoons and went to their favourite bars to collect stomach gas. Then they took all the gas and pumped it into the 55 gallon drum. They aimed it at the moon and crawled in. Then ignited the flame thrower -- VVAAARRROOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!! That thing took off and crashed into the county jail. Sheriff asked his deputies, what's wrong with those boys? Deputy says they just spaced out as usual! Story by onebob Like this story?
